World Dunk Association
Online database of dunkers, dunks and dunk contests
The World Dunk Association (WDA) is an online database of dunkers, dunks and dunk contests. Dunkers can create a profile, add their dunks and apply to be verified. Cronkite News credits the former professional dunker Kadour Ziani with creating it.
Aims
The WDA says it wants to treat dunking as a discipline in its own right. Its stated aims are an official world ranking of dunkers, a standard notation for dunks, and a scoring system for dunk contests that rewards difficulty and creativity. It also keeps an archive of historic dunks, starting from the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
