Lalu Prasad Yadav is an Indian politician who served as the chief minister of Bihar from 1990 to 1997, with a brief interruption in 1995, and as the union minister for Railways from 2004 to 2009. He is the founding president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), a prominent political party in Bihar. He is also a former member of Parliament (MP) of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
