Yevgeny Stepanovich Savchenko is a Russian politician, who was a Governor and then Senator of Belgorod Oblast. He had served as the governor of Belgorod Oblast in Southern Russia from 1993 to 2020, the country’s last remaining governor from the Yeltsin era, and Senator from 2020 to 2024. Savchenko is a member of United Russia. He was also a member of the Federation Council from 1996 to 2001.
