Kathryn Anne Edwards

Kathryn Anne Edwards is an economist, opinion columnist for Bloomberg and podcast host who writes about labor markets, public policy and inequality. She received a PhD in economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2016 and a BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007, and worked as an economist at the RAND Corporation before leaving to run her own research business. In 2025 she co-founded Optimist Economy, an educational media nonprofit, and co-hosts its podcast of the same name. Under the handle keds_economist, she makes educational content about economics and public policy.
