My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine is an Irish rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1983. Founded by singer and guitarist Kevin Shields and drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig, the band underwent multiple lineup changes before recruiting bassist Debbie Googe in 1985 and singer and guitarist Bilinda Butcher in 1987. Regarded as pioneers of the shoegaze subgenre, their work is characterised by distorted guitar textures, subdued androgynous vocals, and unorthodox production techniques.
