Simon Calder

Simon Peter Ritchie Calder is a freelance British travel journalist and broadcaster. He works for various news and travel publications. He is known as "The man who pays his way" due to his policy of not accepting free transport or accommodation from the travel trade. He was formerly the travel correspondent for The Independent and is currently the travel correspondent for The Daily Telegraph, where he hosts a weekly podcast, The Travel Expert.
