Julia Galef (born July 4, 1983) is an American writer, podcaster and blogger from Silver Spring who studied at Columbia University. She hosts the Rationally Speaking podcast and is the author of The Scout Mindset, published on April 13, 2021. Her work covers rationality and the philosophy of science, and in 2015 she was named a Fellow of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. Her YouTube channel, on philosophy, rationality and science, had about 138,000 subscribers in May 2025.
