Kyla Scanlon (born 1997) is an American economic commentator, educator and author from Louisville, Kentucky, who studied at Western Kentucky University and began her work as a content creator in 2019. She posts daily hand-drawn economic explainers on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, and makes a monthly video with Foreign Policy. She writes for New York Times Opinion and a monthly newsletter on Substack. Her first book, In This Economy? How Money and Markets Really Work, was published in 2024 and became a New York Times bestseller.
