Joy Hofmeister

Joy Lynn Hofmeister is an American politician and educator who served as the 13th Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Hofmeister was initially elected as a Republican, but switched parties in 2021. As of 2025, she is the last Democrat to have held statewide office in Oklahoma.
