Andrew Thomas Weil (born June 8, 1942) is an American physician and author known for advocating integrative medicine, an approach that combines conventional medical treatment with selected complementary and alternative therapies. He founded the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1994. Weil has also written numerous popular books on health, healing, nutrition and ageing, several of which have appeared on bestseller lists.
