Elmar Peter Brok is a German politician who was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1979 until 2019. He was the chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs from 1999 to 2007 and from 2012 to 2017. He is a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, which is part of the European People's Party.
