Carola Holzner

Carola Holzner, born Carola Post on 20 July 1982 in Mülheim an der Ruhr and known as Doc Caro, is a German physician, author and YouTuber. A specialist in anaesthesiology who works in emergency medicine and emergency medical services, she is an attending physician at Essen University Hospital, having studied chemistry at the University of Münster and medicine at the University of Cologne. She presents the VOX documentary series "Doc Caro – Jedes Leben zählt!", about emergency services, air rescue and the emergency department, as well as "Doc Caro – Leben Hautnah" and the quiz show "Doc Caros Körperkenner". Her YouTube channel, doccaro, on which she explains medicine and shows her work in emergency care, had 68,400 subscribers in December 2025.
