Adam Aleksic

Adam Aleksic (born January 3, 2001), known online as the Etymology Nerd, is an American linguist, writer and content creator. He makes educational videos about language, and his YouTube channel had about 645,000 subscribers in August 2025. He studied linguistics at Harvard and is the author of Algospeak, a book about how social media is changing language. He has written about language and the internet for The Washington Post, the Financial Times and The New York Times.
