description | — | Hope Not Hate is an advocacy group based in the United Kingdom which campaigns against racism and neo-fascism. It has mounted campaigns against Islamic extremism, antisemitism, and the far-right. In 2016 it described itself as a "non-partisan, non-sectarian organisation." The group was founded in 2004 by Nick Lowles, a former editor of the anti-fascist magazine Searchlight. In 2010 and 2012 it was backed by a few politicians and celebrities, and between 2009 and 2012 some trade unions backed the Hope Not Hate campaign against the British National Party. |
